Hello Conrad, i tried to install some applications of adobe master collection cc in high sierra but the only one that works for me is photoshop, i need to install after effects , premiere and audition, can you give me any suggestions? What happens if you try to install After Effects, Premiere Pro, and Audition, does it show a specific error?

Could not agree more. Apple seems to have forgotten who made them a viable option in the first place. The design community. There should never be issues with designers industry standard software. Absolutely agree! As a photographer, I only use Pshop to tweak my photos. Adobe is playing dumbs and the are not abke to help me.

Hi I have CS3 and it keeps crashing illustrator and Indesign does not open completely. I have installed the JAVA as prompted. Any suggestions apart from reinstall? CS4 is almost 10 years old. I own CS4 and would really like to keep using it for personal projects. Any help welcome.

Sierra might be the last macOS it works on. I just bought a new MacBook Pro. Once I did that it said there was an licensing error. I could only delete. Any suggestions on how to install CS3? Hi Liz, it sounds like more than one problem is happening here. Both are somewhat related to the age of the software.

One thing you mentioned was that nothing happens when you double-click the Setup file. But from your description, the main problem may be ultimately about the licensing error you saw. You can just run the replacement installer you downloaded. Thanks for this. I actually reached out to Apple Support since I just bought the laptop. They suggested I restart it in SafeMode, and I was finally able to install.

Everything is working now. Maybe it was a cache issue. If it does work in safe mode, great! I have Cs6 and already having issues. If I delete the extension — the file becomes unreadable to other people. So i have to manually type. I can only imagine how many more problems I will encounter. Thank you for this post. Although my macbook pro seems to start a little slow running I refuse to pay for monthly Cloud photoshop.

Again, thank you. What kind of Mac is it, what processor, how much RAM, and does it use a hard drive, solid state drive, or Fusion drive? Also, what image sizes do you normally work with for example, x pixels? Can anyone confirm? Also, can anyone confirm if Acrobat Pro Thanks, this blog is very helpful! Please help Apple support were about as much use as a hand brake on a canoe. Some run better than others. This may be difficult to fix, then. Some installation files or permissions may have been altered by the macOS upgrade, since the system has changed a lot in 10 years.

If you registered Photoshop CS3 here or bought it from Adobe, the serial number is listed here. Mine listed products I bought all the way back in For example, Affinity Photo and Pixelmator can both open layered Photoshop files, they are powerful, and very affordable. Thank you so much for your time replying I really do appreciate your advice , one more question if I may?

In your opinion what is the closet product on the market today to photoshop CS3? I want to buy the program and not rent it , Lightroom , elements?

Official statements and verified reports

I shoot photos in RAW I do the odd adjustments like Appature and brightness I then tend to do the odd sharpen and spot heal but not a lot more , so I don the need an all singing all dancing Programme but I do wish to stay with Adobe. I would very much appreciate your guidance as I have searched the internet and there seems to be a few options And clearly it needs to work on high Sierra! Lightroom 6 is a possibility, but there are two issues with it.

The other issue is that Lightroom 6 the non-subscription version has just received its last update, so even though you can still buy it without a subscription, the only upgrade path from it now is Lightroom CC or Lightroom Classic CC, both of which are available only by subscription. Photoshop Elements might be a better way to go. Now you know what those of us who depended on FreeHand have been through! Since Illustrator could not compete with it, Adobe bought FreeHand and are just sitting on it. They do nothing to support it let alone upgrade it. I finally installed Parallels running Snow Leopard so that I could use it, but it is slow.

It will only print on 8. I have NO choices at all when it comes to printing except to push the print button! Adobe is nothing but a greedy monster! I refuse to pay for a subscription. Every thing seems to be running smoothly but generating a PDF out of InDesign or Illustrator has the issue of washed out color… Does anyone else have this problem? Hi All. All seems fine for me on all used.

Anyway … in the end what is the overall outcome? If not which programs Fail and there is no fix? I have encountered minor glitches but nothing that really bothers me. My old computer is dying though and I wanted to know if I migrate the data to a new imac will there possibly be problems with the new HD or anything other than the OS?

I know I was warned not to do the next upgrade of High Sierra so I would hope the computer would come with this one or earlier. Thank you so much for your help. The cleanest way to do it is to sign out of everything you can on the old Mac before migrating deactivate Adobe software, de-authorize the Mac from the iTunes Store and App Store, sign out of any other applications that connect to a server , and then after migrating, sign back into everything.

Good luck! Thank you so much. I will need to reread what you wrote as it is a bit difficult for me to understand. Thank you again. All of this makes me incredibly anxious. This app needs to be updated by its developer to improve compatibility. Do you think that could cause a problem on a new machine with data migration? I purchased one of the first Mac Pros in and was shocked when Apple dropped support for that very expensive machine only six years later five for those who purchased a 2,1.

Such an investment is calculated for at least 10 years. I am even more frustrated to see that never Mac Pros are now supported way beyond what mine was a 4,1 that was built in supports High Sierra. Actually, the former version already did that but it was written in PowerPC code, so I upgraded just for it to run on my new machine.

Most absurdly, I can apparently run CS3 on a Windows machine under Win7 , 8 or 10 with no problems at all. Actually, I just purchased a used version of CS3 for Windows so if that may be any help to anyone: I know we all dislike working in Windows but that could be a viable solution until a better one shows up. Not the nicest solution but certainly a workable one for the small designer. Hi Conrad, Is this the support that you mentioned would come along at some point?

I usually wait until the last possible minute before I upgrade my Macs, but do follow it throughout the year. With this whole 64 bit thing and my CS6, High Sierra might be my last for this machine. PS Thank you for all your valuable insights into this. You are greatly appreciated out here in the interwebs. However, that download does not address the other potential compatibility issues listed for CS6 in High Sierra. Thanks for the reply. If there are other potential conflicts then I might just be staying on Sierra and not doing the upgrade to High Sierra.

If you find out anything different, please let us know. I too find myself in this quagmire… I have been running CS4 on Mavericks I stopped updating my OS exclusively due to the utmost necessity for CS4. I will not be able to do my taxes with TurboTax this year. That being said, doing a clean install from disk probably may not go so well, based on the comments I see below.

However, my upgrade, left everything installed as it was in Windows 7 pro, and I think this was the key to having my CS5 Master collection work with no problems in Windows 10 Pro. Just to add to the discussion, I agree with you J-M Shaw I'm not intresse in a subscription, I have paid for the products and I'am happy with them for the moment. I wanted the computer for traveling. I have installed Lightroom 6 download from my account at Adobe as well as PS5.

I hesitated long time seen the different reactions and experiences I still didn't upgrade to Windows 10 as for the reactions above and therefore my doubt and fear that my Adobe CS5 won't work However, the last comment gives me hope At a side note : I find it 'not done' from Adobe that they oblige people who consider this update to Windows 10 to subscribe to the CC version online. Not everybody using their software has a company or enough money to pay this.

I make things for my friends, family and all for free There's one guy who asks a flyer or a folder each year which I charge Maybe I earn euro per year with that I hoped with my bought CS5 version to continue many many years without investing again a lot of money. If one day my CS5 isn't compatible anymore, it will stop for me It's not because I'm not a pro that I don't like working with their software. Adobe counts on professionals and companies but excludes this way a lot of people.

Really a shame! I hope they will come up with physical versions again which can be bought or upgraded without being stuck with the monthly fees This involved a certain amount of playing with the installer disks. It works, but no updates can be applied. And lack of Camera Raw for my camera was a bit of a dealbreaker. But I did it. Here's how:. More recent packages of camera raw have additional file which you can safely ignore.

Adobe Camera Raw updates cannot be applied. If this had not worked, I would probably have downgraded to Windows 7, as I haven't noticed any W10 features that make a positive difference to me. Given Adobe's licensing strategy, where practical or necessary, I am transitioning to alternative providers, where I am happy to spend reasonable money.

Hell, I'm even happy to pay Microsoft for Office since they are reasonable about it. By the way I only have official purchased software with licence keys I would not go back to WIN 7 my dear Mr. Dave LaRonde I'm just curious. Do you get that as well? I am being swayed to purchase new computer with Windows 7 and then possible upgrade to 10 from there to see if that works.

I have been using CS5 just fine for 6 years. Did anyone get CS5 to load and work properly in Windows 10? My biggest work is that Adobe Acrobat has had so many updates in the last 6 years How do hobbyists do this?? I have talked to several of my vendors and they have started using other programs. They are doing everything possible to avoid monthly subscriptions. I think we all feel, how do we increase profits when our expenses keep going up! Not good thought process on Adobe's part! I have also had this problem with the Adobe Creative Suite 5.

It then blew out all of my 5. I do not appreciate no support from Adobe on a patch to access my programs. I have spent all week trying to take out and put back in my original software.

This is called planned obsolescence and forces me to upgrade which costs me money. There should have been some testing for this package as it works with Microsoft 10 and should have been resolved by now since 10 has been out for a bit. I paid someone dollars to fix my system and then couldn't get the money back and thus spent another dollars at Best Buy Geek Squad to try to fix.

They referred me to Adobe where there is still no resolution.

Thanks again. Due to family illness and life in general, my copy of CS5 and the computer to run it with Windows 7 Pro sat around for a few years.

When I fired up the machine it told me my copy of Win7 was not legal. That seems to be a bug of Microsofts, a bug that took several days to remedy, and part of that remedy was to install Win10 after much constant nagging So now I suppose it's my bad that CS5 is having trouble installing I don't work for Adobe, but I gotta say it seems like the company to which you should be directing your ire is Microsoft. Windows 10 is what's causing the issue, not CS5. I know Adobe software is expensive, but we don't expect other big ticket items in our lives—cars, computers, phones—to run forever though I'm personally holding out for my old truck to last a lifetime.

I know people who do continue to use old software It's a sad fact of life or an exciting one depending on how you look at it that our culture constantly pushes for faster, fancier, stronger. As a result computers quickly evolve and long-in-the-tooth software gets left behind. That said, I certainly understand not having oodles of spare money just lying about to upgrade spendy software. Many people have been successful in getting CS5. It's dependent, I imagine, on the specifics of your system and what, exactly, you have installed.

You might try running in compatibility mode: Make older programs compatible with this version of Windows - Windows Help. Other than that, I would suggest that, if you are still not able to get CS5. This particular thread was started over a year ago and is crazy long, meaning much of the online help community will bypass it, thinking it's out of date. Actually the 'ire' I was directing was towards myself for letting Microsoft badger me into installing Windows My ent-IRE response was in reply to sandraj, who made the post previous to yours.

Sorry for the confusion. If you are still experiencing issues getting CS5 up and running on Windows 10, I do think starting a new discussion thread with specifics about the behavior you're experiencing is worthwhile for the reasons I gave sandraj. I also am thinking about a new computer, but hate the thought of CS5 not working. I wonder though - about running dual operating systems? Does anyone think that would work, if the CS5 doesn't work on 10? Is there a way I can "trick out" my computer to act more like a Windows 7 OS?

Many people do get CS5 to install successfully on Windows 10, but the software is old and the operating system relatively new, so there is simply no guarantee. If that doesn't solve your issue, start a new discussion on the forum with details about your computer. Describe what happens when you try to install CS5 and be specific about any error messages you receive. This particular discussion thread is two years old. Much of the online help community will therefore bypass it because it's out of date, which, in turn, means it will be harder to get help.

Every time I search this issue I land on this thread and check to see if anyone has said anything new. So I think it is still relevant because it's the top hit for this issue.
